Concept of works
Exhibitions and Workshops
The artist delves into the essence of time, discovering that nature serves as the ultimate muse, inspiring action and creativity. Viewing humanity as an integral, pristine component of nature, they draw significant inspiration from this relationship. The creations focus on social themes, employing contemporary symbols and narratives for clarity and self-expression.
Connection and Creation
Observing the surrounding world, the artist forms a deep connection with subjects that resonate on a personal level, seamlessly integrating these inspirations into their artwork. This process underscores a continuing exploration with clay, identified as the most expressive medium for depicting the complexities and nuances of human existence, due to its inherent plasticity and softness.
Evolution of Thought and Art
Over time, the artist notes a shift in their perceptions, observations, and creativity. Amidst the splendor of nature, which exhibits both beauty and abstract forms, there's an acknowledgment of the disruptions caused by human actions—whether it’s the transformation of lush jungles into concrete landscapes or the self-imposed chaos of modern life.
A Reflection on Modern Life
This evolving perspective is mirrored in the artist's work, particularly focusing on the stark realities of contemporary life. The use of tire forms symbolizes the relentless passage of time and the constant motion of the changing world. These works advocate for finding a balance between human needs and the preservation of natural beauty.
Nature's Servings: A Series
The "Nature's Servings" series revolves around everyday objects like teapots, cups, and jugs to signify the daily interactions and services provided by nature. This series reflects on the beauty nature offers and questions the reciprocity of these interactions. It highlights a crucial comparison between the nurturing capacity of nature and the human tendency to manipulate these resources, drawing attention to the shift from rural harmony to urban dominance.
Urbanization and Its Effects
The transition from rural to urban life frames a narrative of human needs overshadowing natural balance. This migration not only represents a physical transition but also the transformation of nature to meet human desires. The series "Converting Nature" reveals how, despite human interference, nature finds ways to coexist within the urban fabric.
